All mammals have some form of mammaries. Most seem to have them on their
lower abdomen. Primates, including humans, have them high on their chests.
This seems odd to me. The weight ought to be easier to carry lower down.

There has to be some evolutionary explanation. The only one I can think
of is: if women had cow-like udders, they would be able to pleasure
themselves with the teats. They would have no need for men. The race
would die out.

I think I prefer women the way they are.

I really like this corset.

I need either a sex change, so I can wear it, or a "pet" girl.

I don't want a girlfriend. They're too demanding, ie they demand sex and/or attention. I want a "pet" or "toy", that I can buy clothes for, take out to dinner, have conversations with, etc, but that I never have to have sex with, can tell "go away for a while" or "shut up", and don't have to be responsible for. I'm sure they exist, but they are probably out of my price range. Oh well.

The Pillow Book

I watched part of The Pillow Book tonight. It's about a woman obsessed with chinese and japanese calligraphy. She derives pleasure from having men write on her. The subject matter seems irrelevant. She only cares about the beauty of the lettering. However, she doesn't care about keeping the artwork, and washes it off immediately.

The movie is beautifully photographed, using a visual overlay technique I've never seen before. However, much of the visual style is in the chinese calligraphy, which I can't read, and don't know how to evaluate. It's as if the director were as obsessed with calligraphy as the central character. Worse, the woman is the only developed character, and her motivation is incomprehensible to me. I'm sure I'm also missing things in her cultural context.

So I got bored and turned it off. I feel like an ignorant, uncultured barbarian, spurning what I can't understand.

I also went to the East End tonight. I was given a flyer for "Munchies and More", a delivery service that runs until 3am. They will deliver snacks, soda, cigarettes, condoms, KY, pregnancy tests, and a few other miscellaneous items. The inclusion of pregnancy tests on their menu seems a bit odd to me.

Apparently someone set off my house alarm twice on Thur Jan 27th. Once at 1:30pm and once at 9pm. I know this because I just got a letter from the police department saying they responded to false alarms at those times. They're mad that my alarm system is "unregistered", and want me to apply for and pay for an alarm permit. If I don't I can be fined $500. Stupid Newark laws.

Stopped by Sophiabrat's work, ostensibly to double check the network connection was working in the new building, but really just to hang out with someone equally bored and lonely. Talking in the booth was cool, but watching her write down cars license numbers was cold and boring. If I ever do that again I'll take along a clipboard and help, just for something to do. Gave her a ride back to public safety. I don't like the area she has to go through to get home from the new parking garage. A lot of girls have gotten raped along there.

Last night got annoying.

I accidently walked out of the house without my keys. I do that about once a year. It happens. When I went to use the emergency key, it wasn't in it's hiding place. Someone had used it and not put it back. Grrr! Annoying but not too unexpected. So I went for the secondary backup emergency key. Only three people besides me know where that is, and they're all responsible enough to return an emergency system to a useful state. It wasn't there! DAMNIT! I was pissed.

Eventually, I called Jay and he came over and let me back into my house.

Now I have a new emergency key in a new place no one knows about but me, and it's going to stay that way.

It sucks when you can't trust your friends to be responsible about something important like an emergency access system. It's one thing when they do something absent minded, like not putting the juice back in the fridge, this is on a higher level.

Sigh.

It's time I changed locks too.

You find strange stuff on the internet in the middle of the night when you can't sleep. Some of it is good, and some is bad, some is a bit of both. This time the good part was finding Yngwie Malmsteen performing Pachelbel Canon in D on electric guitar. The bad part was only finding it in 128kb. It sounds really good. But it also sounds like it would be fantastic in a higher bit rate. So tantalizing...

For years, I've kept (badly) a journal of shows I've seen. I'm not very good at updating it. Often I'll go months without updating, then have to reconstruct the info from a calendar and old email. It's not too hard, since I try hard to never miss a show. I havn't missed rocky on a saturday night since the print broke in January of 2001, and we got a new print for 2001.1.27. BTW, the first show at NCC was 2000.9.15.

This year, Saturday fell on Christmas day, and we didn't have a show. I wanted to make certain this miss was recorded, and I didn't have anything better to do, so I updated my journal.

Turns out 2004.12.11 was my 500th show. I passed 500 and didn't even realize. I could have used this to guilt Sarah and Chuck into playing again, but I goofed it. Sigh. I need to update more. I suck.
